Article Excerpt: Alliant Techsystems has lost an appeal over a lucrative military contract to operate an ammunition plant in Virginia.
The U.S. Army originally awarded the contract to competitor BAE Systems last spring but Alliant Techsystems protested the bidding process twice to the General Accountability Office. But Alliant said Tuesday that the GAO denied the latest protest, so the 10-year contract now valued at $733 million goes to BAE Systems.
